Rust on a rope starts where you cannot see it: between wires and strands, where water and salt get in. Every time the rope bends, the strands rub together. A rope product must penetrate the strands, displace moisture and stay on the rope in service.
Water inside the rope
Mobilarma 798 displaces water and penetrates well between the strands, so it protects the rope deep inside too.
Salt spray and seawater
The grease-like film protects against rust in contact with fresh water and seawater, and in humid, salty air.
Acid fumes and corrosive gases
A thin, durable layer protects the rope in high humidity and corrosive fumes. It also protects against weak acids.
Wire friction when bending
Mobilarma 798 lubricates the rope between the strands, which reduces wear and extends rope life.
Frost, heat and high speed
The film stays plastic at –35°C, does not drip at 60°C and is not thrown off a fast-running rope. When damaged, it self-heals and does not flake.

It penetrates the strands and stays on the rope — it does not drip at 60°C and is not thrown off at high speed. The film is non-tacky and clear, so you can easily check the rope condition.
The manufacturer recommends dipping or bath application after heating the product to 65–80°C, in a well-ventilated area. You can also apply it by brush, applicator or spray. Do not apply too much: on a ship, the excess collects on deck and must not run into the sea.
Yes. It protects ropes against salt spray and humid air, in contact with fresh water and seawater, and works in the extreme temperatures found at sea.
Yes. The manufacturer designs it to protect steel wire rope from rust in service and in storage. It is also suitable for impregnating ropes during production and is compatible with rope core impregnation materials.
